NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) FAMILY-TO-FAMILY

FREE for family members and friends of persons with major depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, panic/obsessive compulsive disorder — a series of 12 weekly classes to help caregivers understand and support individuals with serious mental illness while maintaining their own well-being. MOTHERS’ CIRCLE OF HOPE POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION SUPPORT GROUP

St Catherine of Siena Medical Center is offering a resource for women experiencing pregnancy and postpartum depression.  A 10-week program, along with peer support is now being offered.  One day a week members meet and begin the road back to wellness.   The free support hopes to provide emotional support and education information.

Hofstra University – Counseling and Mental Health Clinic Saltzman Community Services Center

The Counseling and Mental Health Clinic specializes in providing services that help families, couples, and individuals cope with difficult transitions as well as the life stresses that many people are facing.  The clinic provides individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, rehabilitation counseling, and psycho-educational workshops and groups.  Individual, couple and family therapy sessions are only $40.00, and group sessions are $15.00 per session.

In addition to providing psycho-educational workshops and groups at the Saltzman Center, the staff is available to come to your community agency or organization and provide on-site workshop and/or group.  They offer workshops, presentations, and groups on a variety of topics including: Parenting, Children of Divorce, Teen Talk, Stress Management and more.
