ST. ANTHONY’S PARENT/CHILD PLAYGROUP :

The PARENT CHILD GROUP HAS BEGUN TO MEET EVERY TUESDAY, FROM 10 AM -11:30 AM. (SOME ACTIVITIES MAY BE SCHEDULED AT OUTSIDE LOCATIONS)

This is GREAT WAY FOR PARENT OF SMALL CHILDREN TO MEET OTHER PARENTS AND FOR CHILDREN TO HAVE SOCIAL INTERACTION!

Play Group is a support and play group that meets from September-June for parents of pre-school children (6 weeks-4 years).  The group combines both social and charitable activities for parents and children.

  Group meets Tuesday from 10:00 am – 11:30 am at Parish Outreach for both planned and informal activities (crafts, games, snacks, planned outings).

There is a $25.00 registration fee and $10 for each additional child to pay for crafts/snacks. If anyone has difficulty with the fee, they can contact Parish Outreach.

BEREAVEMENT GROUP:

Offers support for those grieving the loss of a loved one in a loving, caring environment.

  • General Bereavement starts Oct 4th, Tuesdays, 2:30 pm for 6 weeks.

SUICIDE BEREAVEMENT GROUP “YOU’RE NOT ALONE” :

The Suicide Bereavement Group “You are Not Alone”

  • The Suicide Bereavement Group You are Not Alone” will meet the 1ST MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT 7 PM. CALL PAT KARPOWICIZ at 631-266-2656 FOR LOCATION AND INFORMATION.

KNITTING GROUP:

 

 

 

 

This ministry provides beautiful handmade knitted items for various charities. A rewarding way to share your talent and meet new people. We knit baby items, prayer shawls, caps and scarfs for various charities including: the Life Center, Madonna Heights, and St. Baldricks. The group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

 

SENIOR SOCIAL GROUP:

senior group 6.25.13 We socialize, play bingo and enjoy refreshments.  We meet on the first and third Wednesdays from September through June from 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

MENS SENIOR SOCIAL GROUP:

Join us for coffee and conversation on 2nd and 4th Mondays, 1:30- 3pm. Games available such as chess, checkers, dominoes, cards and more.  Van service available.

SENIOR SERVICES:

  • CFSP (Commodity Supplemental Food Program ) (See attached) and Bi-Monthly Food Pantry (through Saint Vincent De Paul).
  • Transportation available to Doctors appointments, Physical Therapy, Food Pantry, Food Shopping, Huntington Day Care and Senior Nutrition Center.
  • FREE VAN SERVICE IS AVAILABLE TO SENIORS and the mentally or physically challenged without available transportation and live within the Parish boundaries of East Northport. Appointments must be made at least one week in advance and must be within Van boundaries of Huntington, Commack, E.Northport, Northport, Smithtown (St. Catherine’s).We do have a wheelchair lift. Van trips include the Huntington Senior Nutrition Center, Shopping at Stop & Shop on Wednesdays, Shopping at King Kullen on Fridays and to the Food Pantry on Pantry Days. (Call P.O. for schedule). The van is available for Doctors appointments and to go to the Northport V.A.  The van runs MON- FRI 8:30 A.M. – 3:30 PM. The van is available for Sunday 10:30 a.m. Mass. If interested call Parish Outreach.  Volunteers must do a home visit and intake before van rider approval. Donations gladly accepted toward gas and maintenance for the van.
  • Housing information and applications available for Catholic Charities Senior Housing, Paumanack Village and more.
  • Wheelchairs available for loan, walkers available for keep.
  • Compassionate Care Friendly Home visits.
  • Telephone Reassurance phone calls to homebound.
  • Referrals to agencies for assistance and programs.
  • Seminars on such subjects as Reverse Mortgages, Elder Care/ Law, Defensive Driving classes.
  • Social Support Groups : Women’s Senior Group, Knitting, Men’s Social Group
