The Funeral Liturgy is not a sacrament in itself, but does bring the Christian life on earth to a fitting end, especially through the celebration of the Eucharist. The deceased person is sent forth, commended to the earth from which they came, in the sure and certain hope of the Resurrection of the Dead brought about through Jesus Christ.
