"Jesus took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me.” - Luke 22:19
"How holy this feast in which Christ is our food; his passion is recalled; grace fills our hearts; and we receive a pledge of the glory to come." - St. Thomas Aquinas
The Second Vatican Council called the Holy Eucharist the "source and summit of the Christian life" and is in fact the way in which Christ gives us the assurance of His closeness to us. For this reason, as Catholics are called to share in the celebration of the Eucharist weekly. The Holy Eucharist is Christ's presence with us in all the tabernacles of the world, as the Paschal Mystery is recalled in its celebration. We invite all to join in our daily celebration of the Eucharist and receive Our Lord in Holy Communion.
