The telephone reassurance ministry of St. Anthony of Padua Church Parish Outreach makes calls to people who are homebound, lonely and/or whose day would be brightened by the sound of a friendly voice. If you know someone who could benefit, please let us know. Call Parish Outreach at 631-261-1695.

We have all suffered the loss of someone near and dear to us. It may be a spouse, child, parent, sibling, or friend.  Often our grief can be so devastating that we may feel lost and alone. The Bereavement facilitators provide the caller with strategies for dealing with grief and valuable support and fellowship through the healing process.

Please call Parish Outreach at 631-261-1695 for more information.

Facilitators are:

We have all suffered the loss of someone near and dear to us.  It may be a spouse, child, parent, sibling, or friend.  Often our grief can be so devastating that we may feel lost and alone.

This Support Group provides members with an opportunity to understand grief in a way that rebuilds our identity and strengthens our faith in ourselves and the Lord.  The group helps members to understand that grief is experienced differently in each person and that it often takes a very long time for the pain to heal.  Participants will learn strategies for dealing with grief and will receive (and give) valuable support and fellowship throughout the healing process.  Anyone who has experienced grief will be enriched by attending.

Bereaved family members work with facilitators using books, videos, and shared group discussions.

Commitment: The group meets at Parish Outreach in the fall and spring for 6 one-hour sessions. (Sessions are usually on Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 pm.) An evening group meets in the same location on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 pm for 6 one hour sessions, also in the fall and spring.

The Knitting Ministry ladies are not currently meeting at Parish Outreach, but are working from home.

Our needles have been active and some of our usual charities are currently accepting our beautiful items, such as Life Center, St. Catherine's Hospital, Sloan, St. Vincent de Paul and Wounded Warriors.   Contact Frieda (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) if you have handmade items for these organizations.

The "Heavenly Stitchers" are continuing to knit and crochet beautiful and useful items for our family, friends and the usual knitting ministry recipients (who are eager to receive our gifts--now more than ever).

Frieda will collect and distribute your precious gifts, until we meet again in Parish Outreach. Yarn donations are always appreciated

If you are interested in joining this Ministry, contact Frieda for more information. Be well and safe.
