"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of re-generation through water and in the Word."" Catechism of the Catholic Church #1213

"From the baptismal font is born the one People of God of the New Covenant, which transcends all the natural or human limits of nations, cultures, races, and sexes....Baptism constitutes the foundation of communion among all Christians, including those who are not yet in full communion with the Catholic Church." Catechism of the Catholic Church #1267,1271

The Parish of St. Anthony of Padua is always excited to welcome new Christians into the fold of the Church through Baptism. If you are interested in having your child baptized, contact the parish office at (631)261-1077 to schedule an appointment with a priest. Baptisms are celebrated on Sundays at 1pm, every 2nd Saturday at 12pm, and at Holy Mass.

Through the work of the Holy Spirit, some individuals may find themselves brought to the Church at an older age having never been Baptized. If you are an adult looking to be Baptized, the way to receive the Sacrament is through the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults.
